About Us

Our Mission

The ALX Family Dentistry Commitment

Our practice has been serving the greater Alexandria community for nearly six decades and was in the Wilton Woods location from the early 1970s until recently relocating to our new office on Eisenhower Avenue. Dr. Jon W. Williams Jr. bought the practice in 1999, and Dr. Patterson joined him in 2014. Throughout all these years, our practice has maintained a reputation for providing quality, comprehensive dental care to patients of all ages in a friendly neighborhood environment.

We believe that open and honest communication are necessary for the best treatment outcomes. We are committed to practicing conservative, preventative dentistry that maintains your oral health for years to come. Whenever possible, we use minimally-invasive treatments to address problems while also educating and empowering our patients with everything they need to make the best decision for their health. Both Dr. Patterson and Dr. Williams understand that there are no one-size-fits-all solutions in dentistry, and every patient needs answers that fit their unique needs, budget, and goals.

A Lifelong Passion for His Craft

Get To Know Dr. Dayne Patterson

Although born in Colorado, Dr. Dayne Patterson has spent most of his life in Northern Virginia. One of his fondest memories of his childhood in Colorado was his visits to his local dentist—he even enjoyed watching his parents get their teeth cleaned! This planted the seed for Dr. Patterson’s passion for dentistry, and his interest was confirmed once he realized how much he loved science, art, working with his hands, and helping others.

Dr. Patterson completed his undergraduate studies at Virginia Tech, earning his Bachelor of Science in Biology. He then attended dental school at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, where he was awarded his DDS degree. Next, he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco to expand his knowledge and gain further experience. Before settling in the Alexandria area, he also briefly practiced in San Diego.

When he’s not in the office, Dr. Patterson enjoys working out, playing and watching sports, exploring the ever-changing world of technology, and spending quality time with his wife and three daughters.

Committed to His Community
